Val Chmerkovskiy
Valentin Aleksandrovich “Val” Chmerkovskiy has made big moves in the entertainment industry… dance moves, that is! You’ve probably first seen him on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ (which he’s practically been on since 2005). He has not only won the dance show twice, but has also won the World Latin Dance Champions (Junior and Youth) twice, as well as the U.S. National Latin Dance Champions 14 times.
Smooth moves seem to run in the family, because his older brother, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is also a professional dancer. The choreographer/instructor has also made appearances on ‘DWTS’ (for 17 seasons straight) and is a national champion in Latin–ballroom dancing.
In addition to being a dancer, Val works behind the scenes as the co-owner of the company “Dance With Me,” which has six dance studios around the New York Metropolitan area.
