Doing intense workouts twice a day as part of his everyday fitness routine has kept Mark Wahlberg looking so shredded just six months shy of his 50th birthday. The actor showed off his ripped physique in a new Instagram video promoting his sportswear brand Municipal. The hunk went shirtless and showed of his washboard abs, bulging pecs and buff biceps. He stood with palm trees and other tropical foliage behind him while the camera showed off his impeccable physique, before zooming in to a tight shot of the Municipal label on the side of his trunks.
Mark is apparently taking every precaution necessary to avoid catching COVID-19, as he wore a face mask in the Dec. 28 IG video even though he was outside and appeared to be socially distant to everyone but the person behind the camera taking the video. He also noted that he was spending the holidays with only his immediate family, wife Rhea, 42, and their four children, writing, “Isolation quarantine. Family only!” in the caption.
The Mile 22 star appeared to be on some type of vacation, albeit surrounded only by his family. It was pouring rain in Los Angeles on Dec. 28, but Mark was standing in glorious sunshine in his video. A large marble bench could be seen behind him, with a green lawn next to it. In an evening video he posted to the ‘gram the day before to promote Municipal lavender shorts, Mark stood in front of a long walkway with blue lighting and a bubbling jacuzzi in the middle. Exactly one year ago to the day Mark was in Barbados with his family, but it’s unclear if they headed to the Caribbean this year with how seriously he seems to be taking the COVID pandemic.
While Mark flaunted his buff body at the age of 21 to pose for Calvin Klein underwear ads, now he’s using his fit figure to promote Municipal. He co-founded the company in 2019 to create wardrobe items that can dually be worn as both everyday clothing and as athletic apparel. He’s seen wearing the gear in nearly all of his Instagram posts, whether it be hitting his home gym on Christmas day, or donning a logo wearing a hoodie to give his wife a kiss in their kitchen.
The Lone Survivor star’s buff body comes with a lot of hard work and eating right, as he even tagged his private chef Lawrence Duran in his shirtless video for Municipal trunks, where he added, “Diet by @chef_lawrence_d.” His first workout comes between 3:40-5:15 a.m, and Mark has another one between 4-5pm. He didn’t even take a day off for Christmas, sharing an IG video in his home gym pumped up and ready to get at it with the caption “GO-TIME. Merry Christmas. Let’s hit 2021 hard! I’m gettin a head start.” No wonder he looks so good shirtless at age 49!
