Karamo Brown
Karamo Brown posed at his book launch on March 4, 2019. The star rose to fame on MTV’s ‘The Real World: Philadelphia’ in 2004. He was the first out gay black man to be on reality television. Fifteen years later, he starred in Netflix’s reality television show, ‘Queer Eye’ as the Culture expert. Karamo uses his social work skills, which he put into practice as a social worker for 10 years after his ‘Real World’ debut, to help each ‘hero’ on ‘Queer Eye.’ Karamo works alongside Bobby Berk, Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, and Antoni Porowski on the show, and collectively, they’re called the Fab Five. Karamo is originally from Coral Springs, Florida, and he went to Marjory Stonemen Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. He is 38 years old and originally from Houston, Texas. Karamo has two sons, and is engaged to director Ian Jordan. Karamo’s book, ‘Karamo: My Story of Embracing Purpose, Healing, and Hope’ was released in March 2019.
