Many artists came together at the summer event to honor the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month. Paula Abdul also performed at the festival, and Demi Lovato attended and chronicled her experience on Instagram Stories. The West Hollywood Pride Festival was one of many which will happen around the country during the month of June. Pride Marches began after members of the LGBTQ+ community rioted against the police for raiding Stonewall Inn in downtown Manhattan in 1969.
Today, Pride is a celebration of the LGBTQ+ community and celebrates the lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, asexual, nonbinary, and more people that make up the acronym.
